Katy Perry wasn't talking about Lady Gaga

Katy Perry wasn't talking about Lady Gaga when she Tweeted about blasphemy. The "California Gurls" singer even claims that she is a "massive fan" of the "Poker Face" hitmaker.

The alleged Katy and Gaga feud started last week when Perry wrote on Twitter: "Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke."

The post was widely assumed to be about Gaga's "Alejandro" music video, wherein she uses religious imagery liberally.

But Katy, who, like Gaga, was raised as a Christian, claims that the post was not directed at Gaga and was "more of a non-specific, general thing. But everybody made it out to be a cat fight," she told EW. "I think people love cat fights. It's a turn on for people." It doesn't mean, though, that she's fine with anyone with blasphemous behavior. Just the other day, boyfriend Russell Brand got a taste of her fury when he made fun of her faith.

She continued to EW, "The other day he was yelling out the window. He said something a bit off color, kind of blasphemous about the Lord Jesus Christ, and I smacked him for it. It's just kind of deeply rooted inside of me, and hard to get away from."
