Christina’s first major break came when she was selected to sing Reflection for one of Disney’s animation production. The song went on to be at the peak position in the Adult Contemporary Singles, besides being nominated for Golden Globe Awards in the Best Original Song category in the year 1998. It was recording of this song which propelled Christina to limelight in the world of music and singing. She was then signed up by the record company RCA to record an album in her voice. Her first album titled Christina Aguilera was released in the United States in the very next year i.e. 1999.
This album turned out to be a major hit and reached the top of Billboard Hot 100 in 1999 and 2000. One song in the album titled ‘I turn to you’ peaked at number three in the chart. Christina went on to win the Best New Artist Award at the Grammy Awards in 2000 besides being nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song ‘Genie in a Bottle.’
Some of the other major albums recorded by Christina are Stripped, Back to Basics, Mi Reflejo, Just be Free and My Kind of Christmas. She has done numerous television appearances, but till now has not made any
movie appearances. Christina is currently married to Jordan Bratman, a marketing executive.
