She's usually all dolled up in lashings of lipstick and rouge, but Katy Perry gave glamour the day off yesterday. The pop star arrived at Los Angeles airport with a bare face which she kept largely hidden underneath a trilby hat and oversized black sunglasses.
The 25-year-old even had a few red spots, proving that like most other women, she's prone to the occasional outbreak too. She was flying in from New York, where she was recording new material, and just hours later made a surprise appearance at a Taylor Swift concert at the Staples Centre. Fans were delighted as she joined the country singer on stage on Thursday night for a playful rendition of her hit Hot N Cold.

The comedian has found himself in hot water again this week after saying 'teenyboppers' should take heroin - in the hope it would ‘weed a lot of them out’ through drug overdoses.Speaking in the new issue of US music magazine Rolling Stone, Brand - a reformed heroin addict himself - said exposing young stars to the killer drug would be his way of saving the music industry. Brand - who is the proud patron of a drug and alcohol rehab centre - grotesquely joked it would be a ‘Darwinian’ way of improving music because many of the young stars would die.
