Rihanna ‘wraps up’ movie role

The pop star from Barbados is making her film debut in the action movie based on the classic board game where players try to sink their opponents’ ships.

In the film, a fleet of ships is forced to do battle with a mysterious armada, and Rihanna takes the role of an assertive weapons officer called Raikes.The singer has been working hard to shoot the movie at the same time as touring. Now she has completed filming her role, Rihanna is delighted to be able to take a rest over Christmas.

“I'm officially wrapped from Battleship!!! I'm gonna miss it...but its good to be home! (sic)” she wrote on Twitter.

The 22-year-old appears in the film alongside Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsgård. The movie is due to be released in 2012 and the pop star thinks fans will love her edgy and “bad ass” character.

"She is really tough, she doesn't stand for anything,” Rihanna has previously said of Raikes. “In it I just know my weapons really, really well and she is really intelligent, but really bad a*s at the same time.”
