The singer - wed to Brit funnyman Russell Brand - was being supported by the pal after a boozy evening. Katy, 26, stumbled to a waiting car after watching pal Dita Von Teese perform a burlesque show.

An onlooker said: "The show was called Strip Strip Hooray.

"But for Katy it was nearly a case of Trip Trip Hooray as she was a bit unsteady."

Katy was at a theatre in Hollywood with pals including celeb blogger PEREZ HILTON. It was a far cry from a sober Monday night at a New York bash with teetotal Russell, 35.

Katy later recovered and tweeted to Dita, saying: "You were amazing! You inspire my marriage! Great show!"
